The cottage is set in the scenic beauty of North Norfolk. The area
has a lot to offer, and there are many exciting things to do that
are just a short car journey away.
Wellingham is a tiny Norfolk hamlet of about 15 houses and two
farmhouses. Its history is long and varied and reflects the ‘tillage,
village and pillage’ pattern of most of Anglo Saxon East Anglia
since the days of the Vikings. It was mentioned as a thriving farming
community in the Domesday Book and was the home of several ‘velleins
and socmen’.
The village was declared a conservation area in 1989 and it remains
one of the best kept and beautiful of the North Norfolk villages.
At its heart is St Andrews Church, over 700 years old, and it is
surrounded by gently undulating arable farmland for miles around.
It really is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the
city.
There's a wealth of things to do in the area, from relaxing country
walks or bustling village markets to historic buildings and coastal
adventures. Most of these are within half an hour's drive from the
cottage.
